Packing

Now that I have some free time I can post some of the updates from before arriving to Japan. Being my usual unorganised self I hadn't actually started packing until 9PM the day before my flight to London, which was at 0645. I finished at around 0400, but forgot camera charger USB cord so ended up putting that in just before leaving the house at 0500. I managed to lay out all the clothes and things I wanted to take with me but I only had 20KG (about 40 lbs) of baggage allowance from Gothenburg to London. 11 months worth of things just doesn't fit into 20 kgs.

I managed to get most of what I wanted with me, with the thought that everything else I can buy once I arrive. However, having arrived I now wish I had brought a towel with me and a pillow. At the moment, I'm using a small hand towel to dry myself off. Need to find a store that sells towels. Tomorrow I'll go to the 100 Yen store, hopefully they will have something.

Tips for packing:
1) Start EARLY!!! Plan what you want and lay it out.
2) Write up a list of electronics and all their accessories
3) Fill up your main check in bag with stuff
4) Get a carry on one bag that is maximum size and fill that too.
5) Finally, put your laptop in a laptop case and put the rest of your stuff in there and walk on the plane with a good 30+ kg of stuff.
6) Victory!!!
