Photo booths in Japan

Spur of the moment - Using photo booths

Japan is the land of do it yourself machines. From vending machines 自動販売機 (jidouhanbaiki) that sell food, drinks, batteries, jeans and underwear to these photo booths. Japan has everything on either street corners or inside department stores. After taking group photos you can edit the pictures, draw extra things on them and add stars and the like. One feature of these machines is that they also enlarge your eyes for cuteness reasons of course!
I'm sure that you can tell by these pictures that these machines are usually used after too many drinks on nights out? Everyone does these and its a lot of fun. You can also get printouts with sticky backing so that the pictures can be glued to the back of cellphones or put on walls.

The Room

This is what my room looks like. It is slightly bigger than my room at Severn Point, Cardiff. The bed is bigger and I have much more closet space and a fridge. Also, the washbasin is massive. My neighbours are so cool. Making the most amazing friends! Absolutely loving it. カラオケに行こう!

Seen from the door, looking towards the balcony. I've always been lucky enough to have the bed with my left side by the wall, even here in Kyoto. It feels much better that way for some reason.

Big Bed!

Bamboo forest view, via the balcony!

More of my view. Not as fancy as a high rise building but it is still very nice. Quiet too for that matter.

Desk space + too much left over room. Need more books or something i think.

Closet space and frige.

Wash basin, next to my door.

Toilet with a faucet on top. Only ever seen these in Japan. Toostop water wastage by allowing you to wash your hands with the same water that then goes into the toilet tank?

Dubai Airport

I'm not sure if I can explain Dubai's Airport in words, it won't do it justice. It's humongous and exactly what you would expect of a country that has almost unlimited funds to build whatever may please them. After landing at 6pm I'm still unsure if we were the only passengers there or if the complex just swallowed everyone else up. I'll let the pictures do the explaining and will respond to any questions in the comments section.

Security by the way, is kind of a joke. After having heard stories of people being thoroughly searched and stopped for no reason at all we were surprised and relieved, I suppose, to just be able to walk through with hardly anyone giving us a second look. Or it could just have been stories to scare people. hmmm

We have no idea on what's awaiting us past customs.

Shiny!

Rows and rows of pillars. Are we back in Rome during the Roman Empire?

Palm trees indoors FTW! Oh, and long conveyor belts since its so far to walk.
